Theon Design to reveal ‘Italian Job’ Porsche-based commission at Salon Privé London
Theon Design, the Oxfordshire-based experts specialising in delivering bespoke Porsche-based commissions, is the latest luxury brand confirmed for Salon Privé London later this month at Royal Hospital Chelsea. Theon Design will be giving its latest creation, ITA001, its public debut, ahead of shipping to Italy for its lucky new owner.
Featuring a lightweight carbon body, semi-active suspension and tantalising 400bhp 4.0-loitre air-cooled flat-six engine, the Theon Design ITA001 combines OEM+ design and engineering know-how with the latest technology and manufacturing techniques, sourced from firms located in the UK’s famed ‘Motorsport Valley’.
The Porsche 911 964 Carrera 4-based ITA001 weighs just 1,152kg with all fluids included, leading Theon Design to described it as “featherweight”. It has an original Porsche 993 RS six-speed gearbox and limited-slip differential, and 993 RS brakes hiding behind 18-inch Fuchs alloy wheels.
Visually, the Theon Design ITA001 has a stealthy appearance, and the handcrafted interior features Recaro ‘touring’ seats trimmed in soft tobacco Bridle leather. There are modern features, including a Focal sound system that’s controlled via Bluetooth from a smartphone, which slots into a hidden magnetic wireless charging slot on the woven leather dash. Meanwhile, a switchable, fully ceramic-coated exhaust delivers aural thrills for those who prefer to drive with the sound system off…
The Theon Design ITA001 also has switchable five-stage TracTive Active Controlled Electronics (ACE) suspension, with the dampers carefully calibrated to deliver a flawless setup in a wide range of driving conditions, from fast road touring to track day action. A hydraulic nose lift will ensure the Salon Privé London Royal Hospital Chelsea grounds are tackled with ease.
As a measure of their exclusivity and bespoke nature, prices for Theon Design commissions start at £380,000. Each car is totally unique, and a genuine two-way collaboration with the customer. Cars take 18 months to build, and the price excludes the donor car, shipping and local taxes.
“We are very excited to be exhibiting for the very first time at Salon Privé London with our latest creation, ITA001. The car’s been created for a discerning collector from Milan, and is genuinely the realisation of their Porsche 911 fantasy. We believe it will deliver the ultimate air-cooled Porsche 911 experience and we look forward to meeting enthusiasts at Salon Privé London to share our obsession about Porsche,” said Theon Co-Founder Adam Hawley.
“It’s terrific that Theon Design is joining us with its gorgeous new commission ahead of it travelling to Italy. The full specification is incredible, and I know our London visitors will be amazed by the stunning Schwartz Black colour of the all-carbon body and its gorgeous 18-inch Fuchs wheels. It’s classically stylish, impeccably tailored, and a connoisseur’s dream,” said Salon Privé Director David Bagley.
