Motorists urged to seek peace of mind if worried about safety recalls

Motorists concerned if a vehicle is subject to a manufacturer recall can put their minds at ease by carrying out an instant HPI safety recall check.

The advice, from trusted vehicle experts HPI, comes as Honda is recalling 141,321 cars fitted with potentially dangerous Takata airbags. The UK-wide safety notice affects Accord, Jazz, Insight and CR-V models built from February 2010 to May 2015. The recall states that the passenger airbag inflators may rupture and cause injury in the event of deployment.

HPI Recall  is the quickest and simplest way to check if a manufacturer has recalled a vehicle due to a critical safety defect, providing trusted and reliable vehicle recall information in seconds. It provides information on a specific vehicle using the vehicle’s number plate alone.

Fernando Garcia, consumer director at HPI, said: “Vehicle recall is a problem that is a cause for concern for many motorists. Missing a recall can impact on the reliability and safety of the vehicle. The HPI Recall checker is designed to make monitoring your vehicle as easy as possible.”

HPI’s safety recall check is also available as an optional extra with HPI Check, providing a fully comprehensive vehicle check, arming motorists with vital information about the car they want to buy to protect them from motoring scams and fraud.

HPI Recall adds another layer to the car buyer’s comprehensive vehicle history check, further protecting buyers against making a costly mistake.

The HPI Check confirms whether a vehicle is currently recorded as stolen with the police, has outstanding finance against it or has been written off. It also includes as standard, a mileage check against the National Mileage Register, with over 200 million mileage readings. HPI has been providing up to the minute data to support used car buyers making vehicle checks for eight decades
