Leadership team

Experienced leaders at Alphabet UK drive operational excellence, scalable growth, digital innovation, and sustainability.

Mike Dennett

Mike Dennett is Chief Executive Officer at BMW Group Financial Services UK, leading the Group’s B2C and B2B financial services across BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, Alphabet, and Alphera.

 

Since joining BMW in 1999 after qualifying as a chartered accountant with PwC, he has held senior roles including CFO of BMW Financial Services South Africa, CEO in Belgium, and CEO for Northern Europe.

 

His focus is on enhancing customer experience, strengthening loyalty, and driving sustainable, profitable growth. A car and motorcycle enthusiast, Mike is passionate about building a sustainable future for the automotive industry.

Ian Turner

Ian Turner is Chief Sales Officer at Alphabet (GB) and part of the leadership team. With over 35 years’ experience in sales, marketing, and product development, he helps shape Alphabet’s go-to-market strategy and growth plans while maintaining a strong customer focus.

 

Before joining in May 2024, Ian spent a decade on the board of ALD Automotive, serving as Sales and Marketing Director, Sales Director, and Corporate Sales Director.

 

He has also led strategic manufacturer relationships and supported major business transformation following a large-scale acquisition in 2023.

Ursula Wingfield

Ursula Wingfield is Chief Financial Officer for BMW Financial Services (GB) and Alphabet (GB). With 30+ years’ experience in finance, strategy, and business development, she oversees treasury, auditing, accounting, data management, and financial planning to support growth.

 

Since joining BMW in 1992, she has held senior roles worldwide, including CFO in South Africa and Canada, CEO of BMW Financial Services South Africa, and Global Head of Strategy and Business Development in Germany.

 

She also chaired Alphabet Fuhrparkmanagement for over five years before becoming CFO for BMW FS (GB) in 2020 and Alphabet (GB) in 2021. Ursula is a chartered accountant with a degree in Accounting Science.

Chris Sinclair

Chris is Chief Compliance Officer for BMW Financial Services (GB) and Alphabet (GB), and a member of the leadership team. With nearly 30 years in the automotive industry, he leads compliance, financial crime prevention, and data protection, ensuring regulatory adherence.

 

Since joining Alphabet in 1997, he has held roles in pricing, controlling, and risk management, including five years as Chief Risk Officer in Canada.

 

He became CRO for BMW FS (GB) in 2016 before stepping into his current role in 2022. A qualified management accountant (CIMA) with an Economics degree, Chris is also active with the Finance and Leasing Association and British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association.

Chantal Gorman

Chantal is Chief Risk Officer for BMW Financial Services (GB) and Alphabet (GB). With over 30 years in the automotive industry, she oversees all areas of risk management, including asset, credit, interest rate, strategic, and operational risk—shaping governance and appetite to support sustainable growth.

 

She joined BMW Group in 2011 as Head of Data and Information Management, later becoming Head of Alphabet Controlling. In 2020, she was appointed CRO at Alphabet (GB), before taking up her current role covering BMW FS (GB), Alphabet (GB), and BMW Group (Ireland). Chantal is a qualified management accountant (CIMA).

Jean-Michel Barachy

Jean-Michel is Chief Operations Officer for BMW Financial Services (GB) and Alphabet (GB), and a member of the leadership team.

 

He joined in November 2024 after 20 years with BMW Group Financial Services. Starting in IT in France in 2004, he became CIO in 2010 before taking international roles in Munich and later China, where he led a major financial systems transformation.

 

In 2021, he moved to Japan as COO, driving digital transformation. With deep expertise in business, IT, and cultural integration, Jean-Michel is dedicated to delivering excellent customer outcomes through efficient processes, systems, and people.

2024
Alphabet introduces the AI Assistant to make fleet management even smarter and more personalised. Operations expand further with entry into Slovenia and the Baltic states.

 

2023
With a new partner in Australia and entry in Mexico, Alphabet extends its international presence to 36 markets worldwide. The launch of Alphabet Carbon Manager supports customers in tracking and reducing CO2 emissions across their fleets.

 

2022
Alphabet expands its global footprint with new partners in Canada and Finland, enabling high-quality services in two more key markets.

 

2021
Alphabet unveils a new brand identity with a redesigned logo and corporate design, marking a bold step into the next era of business mobility. The updated strategic focus strengthens the company’s positioning in sustainability and customer-centric mobility solutions.

2020
Alphabet confirms new partners in New Zealand and Australia, bringing its global presence to 31 markets.

 

2019
In Norway, Alphabet partners with AUTO PLAN to complete its Scandinavian presence. In Brazil, Alphabet launches operations in South America with leasing specialist Unidas. Alphabet also celebrates another milestone: delivery of its 700,000th vehicle, made possible by strong partnerships and long-standing customer relationships.

 

2018
Alphabet expands its partner network across Europe into Greece, Croatia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Turkey, Russia, Serbia, Ireland, and Portugal through strategic cooperations with trusted local providers.

 

2017
Alphabet celebrates 20 years of innovation and enters the Chinese market with business mobility and financial leasing solutions. Operations in China are managed through Herald International Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. to meet with local regulatory requirements. 

2015
Alphabet upgrades its app portfolio to Version 2.0, integrating even more features and improving the digital fleet experience for users across markets.

 

2014
With its Carbon Compensation Programme, Alphabet empowers companies to offset fleet-related CO2 emissions by supporting certified environmental projects – a step towards more responsible mobility.

2013
A major milestone: Alphabet delivers its 500,000th vehicle. In parallel, two new digital tools are launched – AlphaCity App 1.0 and AlphaElectric App 1.0 – offering even more flexibility and control to fleet managers and drivers.


2012
Alphabet unveils a refreshed brand identity, marking a clear step towards a modern, innovation-driven future. The same year, Alphabet receives an innovation award for its forward-thinking mobility concepts.


2011
Alphabet acquires ING Car Lease, significantly expanding its international footprint. With 474,000 vehicles under management, the company becomes one of Europe’s largest mobility providers.

2010
Alphabet introduces its Mobility Services Division to develop new, innovative business mobility solutions. The first product launch: AlphaCity, a car sharing solution to support corporate carpools – meeting the demand for sustainable and flexible fleet use, especially in urban areas.

 

2008
The first version of the AlphaGuide App is launched, helping drivers manage their mobility needs digitally.

 

2007
Alphabet celebrates its 10th anniversary with over 250,000 vehicles under management and 680 employees worldwide, establishing itself among the top ten European fleet providers in Europe.


2003
After rapid expansion, Alphabet strengthens its position in the European market. The launch of the European Fleet Handbook makes cross-border fleet management easier and more transparent for international customers.


1997
Alphabet is founded in the UK as the fleet management subsidiary of the BMW Group, with a mission to simplify business mobility for companies across Europe.
