New responsibilities at Alphabet

Munich, 3 April 2019. Alphabet announces new responsibilities at Alphabet International and Alphabet Poland. Dr. Andreas Fischer has started as Head of Risk Management and Compliance at Alphabet International on April 1st. Helmut Hoidn will take on the position of Chief Executive Officer at Alphabet Poland, starting August 1st.


New Head of Risk Management and Compliance at Alphabet International:
Dr. Andreas Fischer started his career at the BMW Group in 1997 in the Financial Services division and held various managerial functions at BMW AG in strategy, quality management and accounting. Andreas has already been part of the Alphabet family since 2012 when he became Chief Risk Officer at Alphabet Netherlands, a position he held until 2017.

Andreas succeeded Raoul van der Meeren who assumed new responsibilities in the Financial Services division at BMW AG for which we wish him much success.


New Chief Executive Officer at Alphabet Poland:
Helmut Hoidn, currently CFO at BMW Financial Services Russia, started his career at the BMW Group in 1984 as a Graduate Trainee in the Organisational Department. He spent many years in Corporate Audit and held various managerial positions at the BMW Group headquarters as well as at BMW Group´s National Sales Companies (NSCs) and National Financial Service Companies (NFSCs) in Poland, UK and Russia.

Helmut follows Leszek Pomorski, who will retire at the end of July 2019. We would like to thank him for his contribution to the Alphabet success and wish him well for the future.
