Alphabet named Top Employer for third year in a row
Alphabet has been recognised for the third year running as one of the UK’s leading employers by the Top Employers Institute.
The business travel and mobility specialist, which manages over 144,000 company cars and light commercial vehicles for some of the UK’s largest, most progressive Corporate, SME and Public Sector organisations, was awarded the ‘Top Employers United Kingdom 2016’ accolade this week at Guildhall, London.
The international research, undertaken by the Top Employers Institute annually, recognises leading companies around the world that provide excellent employee conditions, develop talent at every level of the organisation, as well as continuously strive to improve employment practices. The Top Employers Institute assessed Alphabet’s approach in key areas including talent strategy, on-boarding, learning & development, performance management, leadership, career management, compensation and benefits, as well as culture.
Crucial to achieving Top Employers Certification is the completion of a stringent research process – which is independently audited – to meet the required standard and earn a coveted spot among a select group of certified companies.
Eleanor Nickerson, Director of UK Operations for the Top Employers Institute: “The Top Employers Institute examines the HR practices and offerings that each participating company puts in place for its people, to create and maintain optimal employee conditions. Our in-depth examination concluded that Alphabet provides an outstanding employee experience, with high quality initiatives that engage, reward and motivate employees, ensuring that people can develop themselves personally and professionally, and build a rewarding career.”
Adam Lupton, HR Director at Alphabet commented “We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the UK’s Top Employers for the third year running. We take our certification from the Top Employers Institute extremely seriously as it not only helps us to benchmark our development as an organisation but also enables us to speak credibly and with confidence with HR professionals who have responsibility for ‘mobility’ under their remit.
Increasingly decisions around business travel at an organisational level are as much influenced by HR, sustainability, reward or motivation considerations as they are by operational, procurement or financial concerns. We understand this and so Alphabet provide a portfolio of products and services to help organisations meet their mobility challenges, whether that’s for company car drivers or non-company car employee populations.
This award also recognises the incredible contribution of our employees to create and develop the unique company culture at Alphabet where people feel valued, trusted and inspired. Ultimately our employees are the most powerful, valuable asset in helping to keep the customer at the heart of everything we do.”
