Mobility provider and fleet specialist Alphabet today announced that it has been awarded the Leasing Company of the Year in the 2016 GreenFleet Awards. Alphabet was recognised due to the growth of their electric fleet over the past 12 months, its technological innovations, leadership in the industry move toward ‘mobility solutions’ and continued focus on customer service.
Communications Manager, David Jones commented: “Alphabet is really pleased to receive this recognition of our work with customers in making fleets and business travel more sustainable and efficient. The decision towards a ‘greener’ fleet is now both the responsible choice in terms of CSR and employee engagement, as well as one which makes sound strategic, financial and operational sense.
Alphabet is absolutely committed to working with public and private sector customers to deliver sustainable, real world business travel solutions. Increasingly, ‘green’ business travel is as much about increasing the utilisation and productivity of vehicles as driving down CO2 emissions. In the past 12 months we have we have led the move towards providing ‘mobility services’ – thinking beyond simply the traditional company car.
Our portfolio of EVs has now topped 6,500 and we’re proud of the fact that Alphabet has delivered almost 10 per cent of the total Plug-in grant-eligible cars and vans registered in the UK this year so far. Our low-CO2, multi-user CarSharing vehicles, AlphaCity, have covered more than one million shared miles on UK roads this year – with zero emission Electric Vehicles now available with AlphaCity technology. Finally, to support drivers and fleet managers we have introduced several highly-innovative new technology tools this year including our new AlphaGuide app and the industry-leading Teleservices initiative.”
