Finalists and jury Lease Car of the Year 2015 announced
AARTSELAAR, 24 February 2015 – With the selection of long list to short list, the first important decision regarding the 23th election of Lease Car of the Year has been made. The jury gathered on 19 February for a kick-off meeting and selected the 13 nominees of this year, opposed to the usual 12. Due to a tie in the Business+ category, the jury unanimously decided to withhold 4 vehicles for the short list in this category.
The 13 nominees for 2015 are:
The jury will subject all nominated vehicles to a comprehensive drive test in mid-March. These points, which count for 30% of the total, are added to the rest of the score, divided based on criteria such as Total Cost Of Ownership (TCO), Benefit in Kind, consumption and CO2 emission. This division guarantees a harmonized balance between sustainability, cost-efficiency and field tests. During an award show on 23 April, the best in class per segment will be revealed, and one car will hold the title of Lease Car of the Year 2015 for a whole year.

About Lease Car of the Year
The selection of the Lease Car of the Year is an opportunity for Alphabet to share its expertise about TCO and trendwatching with fleet managers. The initiative is defined by evaluating vehicles marketed in Belgium between 1 February of the year before and 31 January of the current year in terms of their potential for company fleets. On 19 March, the jury will conduct drive tests, accounting for 30% of the total points. The remaining points will be determined by the quality of the importer and dealer network (20%) and a set of objective criteria (50%) including fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, safety, tax treatment as a benefit in kind, marketability and leasing rate.
