Erik Swerts appointed chairman of the Sustainable Repair Foundation
Aartselaar, 25 March 2016 - Erik Swerts, Director of Operations at Alphabet Belgium, was recently appointed chairman of the Belgian Board of Experts that directs the Sustainable Repair Foundation.
The Sustainable Repair Foundation is a non-profit organisation that seeks to recognise automotive companies such as tyre centres, garages and general as well as glass repair, for their environmentally friendly and sustainable working methods. The automotive company is thoroughly evaluated during an objective audit, and subsequently awarded the Sustainable Repair quality label.
In Belgium, this organisation receives support from a Board of Experts, on which experts from various leasing companies and insurance companies, among others, hold a seat. Erik Swerts, Director of Operations at Alphabet Belgium, was appointed chairman of this board for three years, starting in 2016. ‘Through the Sustainable Repair Foundation, we aim to place an even greater emphasis on environmentally-friendly and sustainable operations within the automotive industry,’ proclaims Erik Swerts, who will be combining his activities as chairman with his position as Director of Operations at Alphabet Belgium. Alphabet was one of the first leasing companies to be included in the Sustainable Repair Foundation.
‘Sustainable Repair Foundation’s vision fits seamlessly into that of Alphabet,’ adds Erik Swerts. ‘Alphabet places considerable emphasis on sustainability in various aspects of its business operations. This extends to cooperation with our suppliers. It gives me great pride to couple my experience with Alphabet on the promotion of sustainability in my position as Chairman of the Board of Experts for the Sustainable Repair Foundation.’
Erik Swerts has worked for Alphabet Belgium since 1988. Prior to his appointment as Director of Operations in 2007, Swerts was engaged by Alphabet as its Manager of Operations and Insurance Manager.
