Alphabet reaches a major milestone with delivery of 300,000th car under management, solidifying its position as one of the top ten fleet management companies in Europe. This follows impressive growth and increased market share over recent years.
MUNICH, GERMANY 24 June 2008. – Alphabet, the international multi-marque fleet services provider, today delivered its 300,000th car under management to its customer Kuehne + Nagel Management AG, a leading global provider of integrated logistics and supply chain solutions. The car was handed over to Roland Winklhofer of Kuehne + Nagel, by Karl-Heinz Kral, Head of Alphabet, and Christel Reynaerts, General Manager of Alphabet International Sales & Key Account Management, at the “BMW Welt” in Munich, Germany.
This follows a successful year in 2007 in which Alphabet experienced about 56% growth. Ongoing organic growth and the acquisition of LHS Leasing- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH and DSL Fleetservices GmbH both made a significant contribution to the increase. Organic growth by itself was 21%. With this merger Alphabet is now a Top 10 European and Top 3 German fleet service provider.
Karl-Heinz Kral, Head of Alphabet, said: “This car delivery is an important symbol of the significant growth we have experienced recently. We now have 300,000 cars under management worldwide – meaning more companies are benefiting from our premium quality service and multi-marque offering across the globe.”
“In 2000 we began our partnership with Kuehne + Nagel in Germany, followed by eight years of joint European expansion. Today we support Kuehne + Nagel in eleven European Countries. We are proud to deliver the 300,000th car to them for two reasons. Firstly, because customers like Kuehne + Nagel have made it possible for Alphabet to achieve this milestone and secondly, to deliver this car to a German driver in Germany, where the relationship first began is extremely fitting”, Karl-Heinz Kral concluded.
