International fleet service provider, Alphabet reaches ten years with a total of 186,114 units under management today.
MUNICH 21 May 2007 – Alphabet, the multimake fleet service provider, today celebrated its 10th anniversary. Having started in 1997 in the United Kingdom, Alphabet today has a total of 186,114 units under management.
Karl-Heinz Kral, Head of Alphabet, said: “After 10 years, our employees now number over 440 across 14 countries and are everywhere known for their in-ternational spirit and dedication to customer service.”
According to Kral, 10 years ago customers were unhappy with the service levels they received from their current providers, so Alphabet had to set out to change that. “Today, we are firmly established as an international premium fleet service provider”, Kral said. Alphabet imple-mented close international teamwork structures and cooperation between countries, which form the basis for international customer care and best practice sharing. The sales and marketing organi-sation for example reflects this: The local teams are the in-country experts and provide local ac-count management. The international team streamlines communication, supports the countries, and provides account management to customers with global fleets.
Sustainable Fleet Management
Since 1997, fleet management has changed a lot, and companies have switched their focus to new strategies. Today, Alphabet looks to continue its focus on sustainable fleet management (including fuel management, driver management, and cost management) to help customers operate fleets that improve total costs, improve productivity, attract employees, and generate a positive corporate image. This works only with know-how and customer understanding through consultation, advice and internal best-practice sharing. Therefore, Alphabet places great im-portance in learning from customers and, at the same time, providing them with fleet intelli-gence, for example with the annual Fleet Intelligence Forum.
John Graham, Finance Director at Alphabet customer NSPCC (National Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Great Britain), said: “We receive excellent service from Alphabet and are very comfortable with them as a provider. Over the 10 years of our partnership, we have never looked at moving away from Alphabet although we regularly hold competitive reviews to ensure that the charity is getting the best value for money. It is a very good relationship.”
Karl-Heinz Kral concluded: “We have worked very hard to build a company that delivers top-notch fleet service with a proven track record of successful product innovation and strong in-ternational network. Our dedicated team has made this possible. It’s their spirit and drive for excellence that ensures our future success.”
